As of my last of 2022/23, several graphic design trends were gaining traction:

  1. Simplified and Minimalistic Designs: Clean and minimalist designs with ample white space were popular. They focus on essential elements and clarity.
  2. Bold and Vibrant Colors: Vibrant and bold color schemes were being used to grab attention and create visually striking designs.
  3. Abstract and Organic Shapes: Designers were incorporating more organic shapes and abstract elements to add depth and visual interest to designs.
  4. Sustainability and Eco-Friendly Designs: There was a rising emphasis on eco-conscious design, with illustrations and graphics that highlight sustainability and nature.
  5. 3D and Depth Effects: Three-dimensional elements, including typography and illustrations, were gaining popularity, adding depth and realism to designs.
  6. Mixing Photography with Graphics: Combining real-life photography with graphic elements and illustrations to create unique and eye-catching visuals was becoming prevalent.
  7. Dark Mode Designs: With the increasing popularity of dark mode in apps and websites, designers were creating designs optimized for dark backgrounds.
  8. Bold Typography and Custom Fonts: Experimentation with typography, including bold and oversized fonts, custom fonts, and text overlapping, was a trend.
  9. Neumorphism/Soft UI: This trend focuses on creating soft, skeuomorphic designs that appear to extrude or recede from the background, giving a tactile feel.
  10. Nostalgic and Retro Designs: Drawing inspiration from past eras, such as the ’80s and ’90s, for color schemes, typography, and overall design aesthetic.

Remember, design trends evolve, and new ones emerge over time. Keeping an eye on design communities, attending conferences, and following design influencers can help you stay updated with the latest trends in graphic design.
